Berlin Half Marathon 2018

10.04.2018

As already traditionally, this year's Berlin Half Marathon was again well-equipped, with two world champions Nolan Bediaf and Felix Rijhnen standing at the start. It was a very difficult race. From our TEMPISH Heartbeat inline team, Michal Prokop, representing the Czech national team and Matěj Hloušek, took the lead. Unfortunately, Ondra Suchy was missing in this race.
Still, after the first line-ups, the pace stabilized and Michal Prokop settled on the lead. At about 5 km the race went well and went one after another. About halfway through the race, Michal did not manage the start of the cobblestones and the first group left him a bit. Within a few moments, a few racers had already arrived, who also dropped out of the first group, but this time it did not work for the first group. Still, Michal Prokop made it on a sensational 11th place in the world elite and lost less than 40 seconds to the winner. Matěj Hloušek fought for a position a minute after him and in the end he was on the 35th place together with other competitors from the Czech representation.
We are now waiting for a three-day training camp, and then our boys will be at the start in Krakow, Poland, where we will expect the highest levels.
