WIC RENNES – TEMPISH Heartbeat inline

29.05.2018

After the arrival of our team boys to the French Rennes, a short training session was held on Saturday at the local sloped track. The form looked quite promising.

On Sunday, May 27th at 15.30, the WIC marathon started at the Rennes' square. At the start were 100 of the elite world champions, led by Bart Swing, Felix Rihnen, and other world riders.
At the start, we were all in the front row, because the local track was very dangerous and very narrow, so it was important to take good positions right from the start.

The circuit was 3km long and the bends alternated both on the left side and for us skaters on the unpopular right side. In each turn, they were at the top of the cube and about half of the circle had a width of only about 2 meters, said Ondra Suchý.

Right after the start, a sharp pace was set. We were able to stick to the first group, but after a few laps, they came first and the field was considerably stretched. We held the second group and the race developed quite well. About halfway through the race, I fell at about 40km / h. After that, I finished the race at a calm pace, said Ondra Suchý.

Michal Prokop eventually reached the 26th place, but he was not satisfied with his performance, given his current form. Matěj Hloušek finished the race somewhere around 50th place. The results in Rennes were not too good for our boys, but hopefully, they have taken their part of the bad luck and they will make it up for themselves in the World Cup in Dijon and Ostrava.
